Uncommon Ground came together over the course of a few years. The Cyrus Siblings, Chuck and Morgan, have been playing music together for years in the safety of their own homes. Cara didn't meet them until she moved in with Morgan going into their senior year in college at University of North Carolina at Wilmington. Soon after, Chuck revealed his musical talents and Cara insisted that they learn some covers together. They eventually came across a three part harmony they knew Morgan would be perfect for. Morgan, being new to her vocal talent, was hesitant, but learned the part and performed it beautifully nonetheless. The three played more and more together and decided it was time to think of a name. This was maybe the hardest part of the process. They racked their brains thinking of something clever that they all had in common. Finding something for two of the three came easy, but all three just never quite came together. It occurred to them that maybe the only thing they really all had in common is that they have nothing in common.
