Wilmington, NC songwriter David Dixon has been staying busy in recent months. He was a finalist for the NC Artist Fellowship Award (NC Arts Council). He also opened for singer-songwriter Phillip Phillips (American Idol winner-season 11) at Wilmington’s Greenfield Lake Amphitheater to a sold-out crowd. Dixon studied guitar performance & songwriting at the acclaimed Berklee College of Music in Boston. His musical styles consist of pop, rock, blues & soul, truly something for everyone. Think John Mayer meets Derek Trucks, with some Ed Sheeran sprinkled on top. Dixon's full-length album (2015) was Mastered by Grammy Award-winner, Brian Lucey (The Black Keys, Beck). His new 5-song EP, “The Game” was released on August 13th, 2021.
Dixon performs solo shows while “looping” multiple guitar, percussion & vocal parts. He also plays violin, bass, piano & mandolin. Dixon regularly performs at music festivals, songwriting showcases, house concerts, weddings & corporate events. He has performed at the NC Seafood Festival in Morehead City, the Beaufort Music Festival, & the Wilmington Wine & Food Festival. Dixon has toured South Korea twice, performing on US military bases for the troops. He has also performed in the Dominican Republic, the Bahamas, & all over the US
