Massive Grass has been bringing their unique alternative bluegrass sound to audiences in the Wilmington area since 2007. Featuring Ken Groce on Stand-up Bass, Adam Groce on Banjo, Scottie Lynch on Guitar and David Abeyta on Mandolin, they bring their bluegrass sound to venues all over the south. Growing up in the foothills of North Carolina, bluegrass provided the sound track for much of their lives, however, all four members of Massive Grass got their start performing in Rock and Metal bands. With the end of their band, Clone Cycle, the cousins Groce and Mr. Lynch decided it was time to go in a different direction and began to immerse themselves in the bluegrass scene. Mr. Abeyta brought his Mandolin stylings to the band a year later. Whether it is traditional bluegrass tunes, rock-to-bluegrass conversions, or their own original songs, Massive Grass mixes their rock n roll backgrounds with their love of acoustic mountain music to form a truly unique bluegrass experience.
